Visible-Light-Responsive Oxyhalide PbBiO2Cl Photoelectrode: On-Site Flux Synthesis on a Fluorine-Doped Tin Oxide Electrode

An “on-site” flux synthesis of a layered oxyhalide PbBiO2Cl on an FTO substrate is demonstrated. With the aid of the flux, a BiOCl seed layer on the FTO is transformed to PbBiO2Cl crystals. The flux-fabricated PbBiO2Cl photoelectrode shows significantly higher PEC performance than that prepared by the conventional method.
