Layer-Stacking Sequence Governs Ion-Storage in Layered Double Hydroxides

Layer-stacking sequences of layered compounds establish unique electronic, optical, magnetic, energy storage, and ion transport properties. Herein, we demonstrate that the soft or rigid nature of the lattice can be finely tuned by modulating the layer-stacking configuration, which is a key factor that governs the anion-storage properties of layered materials.
